All children and young people deserve the chance to play, laugh, and love life, and all families deserve to spend quality time together without worrying about what the future might hold, whilst making as many memories as they possibly can.
Sadly, when children are diagnosed with a life-limiting condition, all of this becomes so much harder. The families we support at Rainbows are going through the toughest times imaginable and we do everything we can to be here for them. Each year we provide end of life, palliative, and respite care for over 300 babies, children, young people and their families across the East Midlands. We help children to live right up until the moment they die, and we support families through each stage of their difficult journey.

Come and take a tour of the Hospice – a home away from home for many families. During the virtual tour, you’ll also get to meet some of the Rainbows team and find out about the important work we do.

The Rainbows experience, wherever you are
We are now providing all of this, not just at the Hospice, but offering care and support at home and in the community.
We have nurses who are based at local hospitals to support our families when they have to be there, but also to identify families not yet known to us who could benefit from our support. We aim to have Rainbows Nurses in hospitals in each county in the East Midlands by the end of 2023.
We are also expanding our Hospice at Home service, to give families increased choice for their end of life care, and plan to introduce Rainbows Hubs in each county in the region to make our support more accessible.

Simply put, we want to help brighten short lives, and support families, wherever they are.

How your support can make a difference
Rainbows only get a small amount of funding from government bodies, roughly 18%, which is enough to keep our doors open for roughly nine weeks. The rest of our funding comes from our supporters – every gesture counts, every penny matters.
£5 could pay for our Play Team to provide arts and crafts fun and learning
£10 could pay towards the care of a child or young person being looked after by Rainbows staff
£15 could pay towards vital medical consumables required to properly look after our children and young people
£20 could pay towards the care of a family member who has been recently bereaved

Run the Wilne 10k in aid of Rainbows and be part of something special.
Every penny raised will support families in the East Midlands going through the unimaginable. Set up your JustGiving page here or you can also make a donation via our website. Please mention on either option that it is connected to the Wilne 10K.
